A Message from Fr Dominic Robinson, SJ,
Course Director for the LT Ampleforth Summer School

Dominic R

Dear All,

I t’s a great pleasure to invite you to Living Theology 2009 which is to be held at Ampleforth College, Yorkshire. This year we are focusing the week on the theme of ‘The Parish’, and are delighted to be welcoming two excellent keynote speakers together with members of the Ampleforth community who will address this theme from different angles and perspectives.   You may well find also that the courses you choose feed directly into our theme, but in any case I hope that they will help to develop your own interests and needs in various areas touching our Faith as Catholics and Christians

Apart from our exciting new venue, there are one or two important changes to note. This year Living Theology will commence on Monday,27th July, and end on Saturday, 1st August. However, the changes to our usual timetable are not substantial, and we hope to maintain the same amount of social time, and also to keep the teaching hours the same (7hrs 15 mins for each course).

Living Theology is very special because, far more than lectures and courses, it is an experience of living our faith together. We do this through the study, but also through the Liturgy and prayer, and through the community formed during this special week. That’s why your participation enriches our community, and also why in particular we want to welcome newcomers among us so they too can share this experience. If you know of anyone who might enjoy Living Theology please do invite them to apply. It would be a wonderful service to our Living Theology community. Please do spread the word, most especially among young people and those with a special responsibility in the Church to spread the faith.

Please note that, together with information on Ampleforth and the other Living Theologies taking place this summer, you will find a poster on this website advertising the Ampleforth Summer School. Could you help us by downloading it and posting it in your parish or school or wherever you work or might meet potential Living Theology participants? If so we would be enormously grateful.

With best wishes and hoping to see you in July,

Yours Sincerely in Christ,

Fr Dominic Robinson, SJ
